September 2020

 September 1, 2020
We start off with Isaac's first day of 4 year old Preschool. He is going to the same school Conner went to. He is so excited!

Although Isaac's All About Me poster isn't due for another week, he was so excited to bring it to school today!

Then an hour later, we took Caleb to his first day of preschool. His preschool is 1 day a week for 1 hour. They are little classes that our city does. He was so excited to take his backpack and to go to school like the big boys!

There is a butterfly garden outside of his school that has these cute butterfly benches to sit on.
So of course Emma had to try too!

One hour of just us girls! What are we suppose to do?

After we picked him up - still so happy about going to school!

Ammon and I are building me a craft station. The table top on it is going to be a butcher block. So here it is all glued together!

We had all sorts of really good wood scraps from cutting all the strips of wood. So I loaded them up in a bin, grabbed some hammers and nails and took it out to the boys! This kept them busy for days!

The story is, when I was a kid in bed and I'd call to my mom for something, she would come in and I could smell that she was eating something so I'd ask, "Whatcha been eatin'?"
I guess Isaac got my nose. He will often sniff the air and say something about the good things he can smell.
I have some mint hershey's kisses (yes they are amazing. Stock up at Christmas time!). A few days ago I was eating letting one melt in my mouth while I was sitting on the couch. Across the room Isaac goes sniff sniff  "mmmmmmmm! What's that smell?" So I shared one with him. I told him not to tell anyone, because obviously the less people know, the less I have to share. Now when he smells it - and he knows what the smell is! - he will come over and whisper, "Can I have one of those candies too?" It's so cute that I can't say no and I can't help but smile!

While driving home from dropping Isaac off at school, I told Caleb that we are going to home to play for a bit and then he gets to go to school. He replied, "I don't want to go home and play. You make my heart hurt and break!"

Caleb helped Emma put a backpack on and then he would take her hand and say, "come on, let's go to school!" Then they would go to a different room and play. He kept doing this and it was so cute!

Emma has been learning to fold her arms during prayers. She always does her babble talk while her arms are folded (even if somebody else is saying a prayer). We think it's pretty cute!

Meet Emma. This picture tells so much about Emma. She smiles at any bit of attention she gets.
She has learned to open the clip on her pacifier lanyard so I have resorted to keeping two on her. The idea being that hopefully I'll notice before she gets the second one off. Ammon says I should just let her wean herself off of them. But she is so much quieter with a paci (and heaven knows I don't need any more noise in my house!) that I prefer she has one.
She LOVES shoes. It is easier to put on other people's shoes (because they ar so much bigger than her feet), so she almost always has somebody else's shoes on. Can't find your shoes? Check Emma's feet!
She runs. When all her brothers are home, there is no time for walking. She runs everywhere! She runs the fastest when the backdoor is open and she is scared it will shut before she gets there. She hates being left inside.

She loves playing in the backyard

She has also started pushing dolly around in her stroller!

Me and my girl!

Caleb, Emma and I got out of the house today. We went to a kids play place called Jungle Jam. We had the plae to ourselves for the first 2 hours!

Undies have been a fascination for Emma lately. We lay our next day clothes out each night and when Emma sees her brother's undies, she immediately tries to put them on! It's so funny how she holds one foot while trying to get it in the hole!

This is Comal County Fair week. It's a big deal. We don't get fall break, we get "fair day" off of school. So the Thursday of fair week is always dress like a cowboy day at school. Always. Well, actually, for some reason Isaac's class is doing it next week - but the same school has done it the Thursday of fair week the past 2 years so I don't know why they changed this year.

We decided to do a little pumpkin wash today. I saw it on a toddler blog. The kids loved it!
I'm so used to saying "the kids." At least it's transitioned from "the boys." But the big two were at school, so this time "the kids" meant Caleb and Emma.

Grandpa Dietz makes each of his grandkids a rocking horse. I think we got nice pictures of the boys all sitting on theirs. But we can't do nice pictures for Emma or she'll never feel like the youngest child who missed out on everything (wink wink - oops we forgot). So here's the best we got!

Haha. She climbed up and then couldn't get down. Can I say "you deserve it" since she climbs EVERYTHING?

Caleb and Emma were playing in the other room together.
Me: "Caleb, it's time to go to school!"
Caleb: "Sorry Emma, I have to go to school now." 😍

Whenever I'm sweeping the floor, Emma desperately wants to sweep too. So when I saw these little brooms at the store, I grabbed 2 thinking, "Yes! I finally won't have to share the broom!" Today I discovered that it wasn't such an amazing idea...

Now I can't keep all the dirt in a pile. Somehow it gets re-spread out on my floor...
