December 2018

Conner's Preschool put on a Christmas Music Program today that was super cute! A lot of the songs were ones I hadn't heard before. I loved watching Conner perform, but let's just say I don't think wants a future in performing! Haha! Here are just a couple of the songs they sang.

Skip to the second half if you want more entertainment! LOL!

A friend recommended we go to a place called the North Pole Village and I decided give it a try. Oh. My. Goodness. It was so much fun! We will go back next year for sure! It cost about $5/person to get it but was totally worth it! It was in a gym, but was set up like a little village. Each "house" had something different.
School: They learned about fossils. They got to dig in sand to find a little plastic dinosaur (which they got to keep) and make crayon rubbings of fossils.
Post Office: They got to write a letter to Santa, get a stamp and put it in the mail box.
Library: They got to pick out one book to take home (to keep).
Pet Store: They got to pick a stuffed animal to keep.
Animal Clinic: After picking out their stuffed animal, they got to take it to the animal clinic to get an "exam" and receive a birth certificate.
Fire Station: meet the firemen and pet real dogs.
Bakery: Frost cookies to eat
Elf Workshop: got their faces painted
Church: Somebody was reading a picture book of Jesus' birth, and then gave each child a hot wheels car.
Ice Fishing: Think carnival fishing
They also got to sit on Santa's Lap!
I'm sure there is more that I'm already forgetting!
We had so much fun! Next year I will get more/better pictures!

From time to time Caterpillar does an open house where the public get to come into their facility. It's a special occasion for us, because we aren't normally allowed to go into Daddy's work!

The city had a police SWAT truck there

There were tractors for the kids to sit in. Some how they knew right where the horn was...

I wonder if I could get one of these for my backyard. The kids might like it better than the play structure.

Of course the little cars that the employees drive around are pretty cool too!

There was a bounce house for the kids!

Brownies, cookies, popcorn, soda...yummy!

It was really fun to see where Daddy works. I won't be surprised if some day the kids talk about how dad eats really yummy food and plays on bounce houses every day when he goes to work!

Grandpa and Grandma Eggett came to town, so we decided to go to Chuck E Cheese with them. More adults makes it easier to keep up with the boys!

December 22, 2018
Today we went on a hike in San Marcos. We had a lot of fun!

December 23, 2018
This morning Grandpa and Grandma Eggett took Conner and Isaac to the Natural Bridge Cavern's Ranch Zoo. It's a drive through zoo, so you spend most of your time in the car, petting animals through your open window. They do have a small petting zoo that you get out of your car for.

Grandpa and Grandma have a sun roof which makes this extra fun!

My sisters and I are all pregnant right now. Elise and I both found out the gender of our babies at the same time. I had the doctor put the gender in an envelope then had a friend fill a pinata with either pink or blue items. Here is our movie of the gender reveal!

I was STUNNED! I actually didn't believe it. I had to open the envelope to double check that it was correct!
Later in the day, Elise did her gender reveal with a cake! My favorite part was when Maia asked if we could switch babies!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

I made the boys some eggs so that if they were hungry they could eat them before we went downstairs to start doing Christmas.

Ammon and I love that my parents video taped the first 5-10 minutes of my childhood Christmas's so we've decided to do the same thing for our kids! I guess because we were video taping, we didn't get many pictures...

When Grandma and Grandpa come to town, we always get to play hard, read lots of books and make cookies!

We invited some friends and family over to celebrate New Years Eve with us! We normally celebrate around 9pm so that our kids aren't up too late. We love to ring in the new year with a balloon drop!

November 2018

November 3, 2018
We got to drop Conner and Isaac at the Cranmer's house and go out on a date night. Conner and Isaac were having a sleepover, and Caleb isn't quite ready for sleepovers yet, so he got to go on our date with us!
We went to Hopdoddy Burgers for dinner and then walked through Zilker Park. Caleb is so funny, even when his brothers aren't around, he is copying them! There was a ledge so he had to climb up it and walk on it and then jump off of it when it ended, just like Conner and Isaac would have if they had been there!

November 11, 2018
Today is Isaac's 3rd birthday! We do birthday parties on our kids odd birthdays, but we felt like at the age of 3, Isaac doesn't have many friends to invite to a party. Instead we went to Chuck E Cheese for dinner. Which was the perfect choice! The kids had a blast, which means as a parent we had fun because our kids are having fun!

That night all of the family came over for cake and ice cream. Kids are so much fun! And when they are so excited, it's hard to pick just a few pictures, so here's a whole bunch!

PJ Mask is Isaac's absolute favorite right now, so almost all his presents have to do with PJ Masks!

After everyone left, we remembered we had one more gift in the laundry room that we forgot to give to Isaac!

Conner got a sleeping bag for his birthday in June and Isaac has been so jealous! He couldn't wait to use his own brand new sleeping bag! They got to have a camp out in their sleeping bags in their under the bed forts!

We love you so much Isaac! You bring so much excitement and energy to our family! You constantly are teaching me to think outside the box by doing things I would never think of.

November 14, 2018
I took the boys to the $5 store and let each of them pick out a present for Ammon. Ammon loved it because the boys were so excited about the gifts they bought him. It was a fun experience because each of the boys basically just picked out a toy that they wanted! A remote control car, remote control helicopter and a nerf gun tank; so of course they all played with the new toys! He also got some things he had been wanting (grill thermometer and a skillet).
None of Ammon's family came for his birthday, so we bought our favorite chocolate cake for his birthday treat! It was so delicious!

November 15, 2018
Conner's preschool did a Thanksgiving Feast that parents were invited to attend. It was so cute! The kids all made their own place mats and the table decorations (the corn).

Conner said, "Mom, I don't like pickles. Can I take this home for Dad to eat?"

One of our favorite things about our town is the city activities they do, especially in November and December. We went to downtown to watch Santa come to town tonight and the lighting of town square! We met up with our friend, Aria!

If you look to the right of Santa, you can see Ammon with Conner on his shoulders! Santa comes to town riding on a fire truck each year!

Thanksgiving! This year we did something new that I think is going to become a tradition for us...and it involves putting up our Christmas tree early in November. If you are strongly opposed to this, stop reading now. Haha! After putting our Holiday Tree up, we started decorating it with Thanksgiving decoration! We had the kids make them. It was so much fun!

Another tradition that we started a few years ago, is each day in November the kids say one thing they are thankful for. We write it on a leaf and put it on a paper tree. I love this tradition! It helps the kids think deeper.

November 23-25, 2018
The day after Thanksgiving we left to go camping. In Texas, it is a beautiful time of year to go camping! Warm during the day and a wee bit chilly at night. Perfect camping weather! We went to Enchanted Rock State Preserve. They have about 30 campsites there and there were at least 10 sites that were LDS! Crazy! We didn't know any of them, but you meet them quickly when your kids are wearing BYU hats! Besides us, there were two other group who had come together. We had fun with campfires and the play ground and hiking.

Our scary story for this camp out: On our first night there, we had a fire going. It was dark out and we had finished roasting marshmallows. It was getting a little chilly so I had put a winter coat on Caleb. We had the kids come over to the picnic table to clean their hands using baby wipes. Caleb didn't want to so he went back over by the fire, which he wasn't allowed to be over there by himself. Caleb starts pulling a kids camp chair closer to the fire (his back is to the fire). So Ammon started walking over to him. Caleb saw Ammon coming and quickly backed up to get away from him, tripping on the fire pit ring and falling into the fire. Ammon and I ran to him and got him out of the fire. I tried to get the coat off of him but the zipper was stuck. Adrenalin running, I just ripped the zipper and pulled the coat off of him. Amazingly, Caleb was perfectly fine. His coat was ruined, but he was fine. We felt so blessed.

Throwing rocks into the water

We went over a couple of bridges while we were hiking. Each time, we told the story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff. The boys absolutely loved it and were sad when there were no more bridges!

We (try to) always decorate the Christmas Tree the weekend of Thanksgiving! We are still in the only-decorate-the-top-half phase of parenting...Actually, for us it's the middle 1/3. Our tree is really tall so the top 1/3 we can't reach. Haha

I have to add this picture because it shows Conner wearing this basketball shirt backwards. The front of the shirt only has the number 15 on it, so he chooses to wear it backwards so that he can see the basketball and the hoop. Cute boy!
