April 2019

April 1, 2019
Grandpa and Grandma Dietz invited the grandkids over to their house (in small groups) to make an Easter Bunny Basket this year. Each of the kids got to help decorate their own basket. Look how cute they turned out!

Isaac goes straight for the candy,

Conner immediately wants to open his car!

Ammon trimmed the trees in the backyard and then helped the kids make a tree fort out of the branches. They LOVED playing in their tree fort! They even ate lunch in it today! What an amazing Daddy they have!

Today Conner got to bring his plant home from school. They planted it a couple of weeks (months?) ago and have been giving it sun and water. Conner was so excited to show me his plant! He asked if we could plant it at home so he can grow pumpkins! Yes, of course! And then I found out...they planted lima beans. So Ammon, being the amazing Daddy that he is, planted some pumpkin seeds so that we can have home grown pumpkins this fall. Check back in October to see how our pumpkin seeds do!

Today I walked around the corner and saw something furry wiggling around on our stairs. We don't have any pets. I swear my heart missed a beat. What animal got into my house and how the heck am I going to get it out?!? I keep walking and find this:
It was just Caleb sitting on the stairs with a coon skin hat on. Whew!

Each year we host a cousin's Easter Egg hunt and invite all the kids cousins to attend. I love planning and hosting this fun party. And I always take way too many pictures. Enjoy!

We always do youngest to oldest with the pinata. The youngest cause the least amount of damage to the pinata, which means more kids get a chance to hit it. It also means that oldest gets to give the final blows each year!

We started in the yard, but then it started raining, so we had to move it to the porch.

The morning is always full of sugar. The kids get candy in the egg hunt, plus the pinata, and then we serve homemade chocolate covered marshmallows.

When Ammon was a kid, his mom would make chocolate covered marshmallow eggs for Easter each year. A year or two ago, Ammon asked me if I'd try to make them. So I make them for the cousins Easter egg hunt, plus one for all the boys.

The post you've been waiting for! Meet the youngest Dietz, the little girl who completes our family! When friends (and strangers) found out we were having a girl, they'd always ask if I'm so excited. The immediate answer was YES, but a part of me says, I'll believe it when she's born! When she was born, I checked with Ammon, "It's a girl, right?" He said "Yes!"

Emma, meet your family!

Grandma Eggett was the energizer bunny who watched the boys while I was in the hospital and recovering. If you've never seen Grandma with my boys, let me tell you, she just keeps going and going and going and going...
When she goes home, I think she sleeps for 3 days straight! LOL!

This is one of my favorite pictures!

 Our first family picture!

We are SO IN LOVE with this beautiful little girl! She is just perfect!

Don't worry, we have more pictures of this cutie pie. In fact, I think we have at least one picture every day...

Today we take Emma home!

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny brought some lawn tools!

I'm not sure if he is in a sugar coma or throwing a fit. HAHA!

Emma's Baby Pictures. The ones on the birth announcement are our favorites, but here are some other fun ones. I have a lot here. I know I'm her Momma, but she is just so beautiful that I had a hard time just choosing a couple of pictures!

She HATED the Easter grass! This might be the only picture of her not screaming!

Caleb loves to kiss Emma! It's so cute! So we got a picture of it, and then the other two wanted pictures of them kissing Emma :)

The boys just adore Emma!

We decided as long as we had the photo stuff out, we'd get pictures of all the kids.

Caleb did NOT like this idea...

Conner and Isaac tried to help make Caleb happier...

He's just so cute when he pouts!

We don't remember what caused this face...

This is the best one of all 4 kids, but of course we had to have a hand in an awkward spot.

Caleb started pouting again, so he was removed...

Caleb helping Grandma Eggett make breakfast

April 24, 2019
I remember a Thanksgiving as a young teenager. We went to my Aunt's house. My Grandpa Eggett picked up his Dad and brought him to Thanksgiving as well. And my Great-Grandpa had his pants on backwards. Being so young, I thought it was pretty funny.
I have this picture of Isaac when he was about 1 month old. Grandpa Eggett got him dressed and put his pants on under the onsie. To me it looks like an exercise outfit. I smile whenever I see it or think about it.

Here's Emma, Grandma Eggett got her dressed today...backwards
So the moral of the story is, it must be genetic. It seems to be one of the traits that only effects every other generation. If you see my kids wearing their clothes wrong, just smile and know it's not their fault, it's genetics ;)

For the past 3 years, I have watched a little girl in my home. She has become a part of our family and we all love her! She came to meet Emma today!

So far, I've been pretty lucky with the flushing toys thing. With 3 boys, you'd think it would be a common occurrence. I imagine more has been flushed than I realize. But I caught Caleb flushing a toy today. Good thing it was too big. Sorry Heatwave!

Conner had his end of the school year program tonight!

Here are a couple of cute songs from the program:

I tried to "trim" this video after the song was over, but I couldn't figure out where the trimmed version got saved. So you get the whole thing. There isn't anything good after the song is over.

Did I mention how much we love her?
