March 2020

 March 9, 2020
Today is Conner's first day of Spring Break. We had planned to go to Sea World as a family, but Ammon wasn't feeling his best, so he stayed home with Emma while I took the boys. We had a lot of fun! I also learned that rides aren't Caleb's favorite thing.

I was able to get Caleb to ride 3 rides. When we rode the kiddie roller coaster he cried. Then said he wanted to do it again. Then cried while we were on it the second time.
Caleb also rode the carousal. He held onto my neck the whole time, meaning I was doing squats! LOL

Caleb tried the ferris wheel, but I had to ask for us to get off after the first time around.

The boys got to meet Elmo's crew

We went to a sea lion show. Before it started, we bought some fish and we fed the sea lions. The boys loved it! Then I let Conner choose where we sat, and he chose to sit in the splash zone. We sat in the very back row, so that we wouldn't get very wet at all. SURPRISE! We got soaked before the show even started! Caleb wasn't too excited about getting so wet. We moved back a few rows so we wouldn't get sprayed again.

Conner and Isaac had a blast at Sea World. I think Caleb finds other things much more fun! But we still had a great day!

Day  2 of Spring Break; We headed to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area (thankfully Ammon was feeling fine). We spent the afternoon at the Ft. Worth Stockyards. We did a maze, a petting zoo, rode a train, and explored! It was a lot of fun!

While we were in the maze, we came to this sign, and Conner read it for us! I was so impressed!

That dimple though...

Conner and Isaac had been asking for months to ride a train. So we had to ride it! We had the whole car to ourselves!
Funny story: Earlier in the day, both Conner and Isaac had found pennies on the ground, which they had put in their pockets. On the train, they were selling a bag of popcorn for $1. Ammon bought a bag for the 3 boys. He told Conner and Isaac that if they wanted a bag of popcorn, they would have to buy it with their penny. Isaac immediately handed over his penny and received his bag of popcorn. Conner wasn't as willing to give up his penny. He kept trying to sneakily ask Isaac for some of his popcorn, which we told him no. 5 minutes later, Ammon and I had to start eating some of the popcorn out of his bag to convince him to buy his bag of popcorn from us. It was so funny! Later, after the train ride, he gave them both their pennies back.

That night we drove up to the Denton area and met Ammon's sister's family at a park. The kids had tons of fun, and it was fun to catch up with Amber and Josh. For some reason we never took any pictures!

The next morning, we were suppose to go to the zoo and then head home, but when we drove to the zoo, there was a CRAZY amount of cars waiting to get into the zoo. We realized that we would be stuck in our car for atleast an hour before getting to park, and then the zoo would be ridiculously busy. So we changed our plans and started driving home. On our way we stopped at a kids play place and had a lot of fun there!

Back to Sea World! This time with the whole family!
It was fun for Conner and Isaac to show Daddy all the fun rides! Also, because we had 2 adults, one of us could take the bigger kids on a few of the bigger roller coasters that they were tall enough for. The Journey to Atlantes was a FAVORITE!

We went and saw the penguins!

March 16, 2020
It's hard to believe that Carter and Tanner would have turned 7 years old! Sometimes Ammon and I talk about how different our life would have been if they had lived. We can't guess what it would have been like, of course, but we know that when our other kids were born would have been greatly effected!
Other note-worthy news. Spring Break is over and Conner should have started back at school today. However, because of Covid-19, our spring break has been extended another week.

March 18, 2020
Today was suppose to be Conner's Hundred Days of School celebration. Over our original Spring Break, he decided that he wanted to take 100 pennies to school. Since we're not back at school yet, we're doing it at home. We counted, sorted and cleaned 100 pennies!

When we accidentally leave the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs open, this stinker likes to sneak up stairs. When she gets caught, she's pretty proud of herself for making it so far!

Caleb makes my heart smile. I don't know how else to describe it! I hope this isn't a phase. I hope he's always my fun loving, easy to laugh, goofy kid!

A TINY bit of mud goes a LONG way with this kid!
Today Emma looked like she was going to start walking. I pulled out my phone and somehow caught her first steps on video! I didn't catch any of the other kids first steps on video! Wow!

This is what school looks like for us now. It's not looking like Conner is going back to school any time soon.

Caleb will say "What dah 'eck?!" and I think it's the cutest "what the heck" you've ever heard!

March 28, 2020
I was trying to bribe Emma to sign 'more please', so I started giving her mini marshmallows. At first I would show her how to sign it, and then give her a marshmallow. Eventually, I was expecting her to sign it. I stood my ground really well for quite a while. But how do you say no to this face?

The kids didn't know I was baking banana bread when I pulled it out of the oven. As I'm setting it down Isaac comes into the kitchen sniffing the air and says, "Something is going in my nose and I want to eat some!"

At dinner Caleb was trying to be the class clown so he stood up on the bench and started making noises when all of a sudden he steps, misses the bench and falls off. Maybe I'm tired, but I couldn't stop laughing. He wasn't hurt.

Emma is a big laundry helper!

There is a picture of a bear in Isaac's workbook and he tells me, "I'm not scared of bears!"
Me: "I'm not scared of teddy bears."
Isaac: "I'm not scared of real bears! We can see a bear when we are hunting. We will take a bow and arrow and shoot the bear. Then we will all help pick it up and carry it home. Then you have to cut it in half and cook it. Then we will eat it! Can we do it for our next activity?"

Hmmmm.....what a good imagination...?
