Isaac has been very jealous of Conner loosing teeth and getting money from the Tooth Fairy. It's been about a month since Conner lost his last tooth, so this conversation that I overheard was a little out of the blue:
Isaac: "Conner, do yo know what would be fun?"
Conner: "If I punch you in the face?"
Isaac: "No."
Conner: "You know, if I punch you in the face one of your teeth might come out."
Isaac: "Really?!"
Conner: "Yeah! It might bleed a little, but then you get a popsicle!"

I'm taking Conner to a birthday party this afternoon....
Conner: "How long do I have until we go to the birthday party?"
Me: "2 hours."
Conner: "But how many minutes?"
Me: "120 minutes."
Conner: "Wow, you're even smarter than I thought!"
....ummm....thanks....lol

Caleb loves mud. I have no idea why he loves it so much, maybe he likes the way it squishes. I'm not sure. But he loves mud. There can be a spot of mud the size of a quarter and he will manage to cover his entire body with it. Today he took his artistic abilities to a new level...he gave his hair a mud mask.

Mud is nothing new for this one. For this reason, in April I installed a shower in the back yard that hooks up to a hose. This was our first opportunity to test it out, and it worked great! Caleb said the water was cold (it's hose water...) so I told him if he doesn't want a cold shower, don't get muddy. But it hasn't stopped him!

The boys were inside the house running around (I hate it when they're running all over inside the house, but it's too muddy to send them back outside...see above), evidently Emma got tired of them running into the kitchen. She took the mat that sits on the ground by the sink and put it in the kitchen doorway as a "gate" to keep them out. I really appreciated it because I was tired of the boys running into the kitchen to do a lap as well!

When I blow dry my hair, I flip my head upside down to help it have more volume. My mom did it, so now I do it. It works well, if you're wondering. Today I was trying to figure out what Emma was doing, then I realized she was brushing her hair with her head upside down...just like I do when I'm blow drying mine! Mini me!

It's teacher appreciation week and I remember from when I was a teacher how sweet it was to have kiddos bring in something each day for me. So I make an effort to send something for the teacher each day of the week. Nothing big, a candy bar, a soda, etc. I made a candy bar into a super hero (using paper) with a note that said something about being a super teacher. Isaac decided he wanted to make his teacher. He loves making things like this. I'm not sure if it the crafting he likes, or using the hot glue gun! lol

Ammon was in need of a vacation from work, so we took a couple of days off of "real life" to go on a field trip! This morning we drove to Corpus Christi and headed to the Texas State Aquarium. We started potty training Emma a week ago, and she is doing so good. I warned Ammon about how miserable potty training is, and then a few days into had to explain that this time is a lot different than it was with any of the boys, a lot...not easier...but easier. She just kinda got it. She still had accidents, but she seemed to clue into what she was suppose to do quicker. Also, we started on a Saturday, so Ammon and I could tag team it all day the first 2 days. Let me tell you, when you're the only adult home, and you have a timer going off every 15-20 minutes to remind you to take your kid potty, that timer is also reminding you HOW SLOW THE DAY IS GOING BY! I've always found it pretty miserable!
Anyways, my point in telling you all this is that we were nervous to take her on vacation when she was so newly potty trained. But she did awesome. She didn't have a single accident the two days. Not even on our 3 hour drive each way!
Back to the aquarium....

AHHHHHH A SHARK!

We had so much fun looking at all the water animals!

That night we slept in a hotel, which was Caleb's favorite part of the whole vacation. Our kids think hotels are so amazing!

This morning we went to the USS Lexington aircraft carrier. We had a great time!

In both the above and below pictures of Isaac, he is making "boy noises"...ya know, the sound of the water spraying out of the hose and the sound of the machine gun firing. I think when he grows up, he will have a physical job. I think he is going to need something physical to help him exert all of his energy!

Afterwards, we headed to Rockport Beach! We had so much fun playing in the water, building sand castles and playing on the playground! When we plan to be outside for a few hours, I always leave the sunscreen on my kids faces white instead of rubbing it in. It helps remind me when they need more. Thus the reason they have white faces in the pictures. Lol. A few weeks ago Conner told me, "Mom, did you know that some boys don't wear shirts when they're swimming?" I kinda laughed and said, "Yes, I knew that. But you will wear a shirt while you're swimming until you're responsible enough to put on your own sunscreen."

After the beach, we loaded up and headed home. We had a great field trip!

Today I had a very nice Mother's Day. Ammon (and the kids) got me a google nest + a speaker thing. It's been fun to play with! Conner picked out one of my favorite treats to give to me. And Ammon made this beautiful flower for me out of wood! I got to relax and enjoy my time with my family. It was great!

Caleb goes to a city preschool class 1x a week for an hour. It's held at a local park (they have an indoor education center). Sometimes Emma and I walk to the playground, sometimes we walk the walking paths and look at the ducks, sometimes we go to the dinosaur dig sand box, sometimes we go run errands....today we went looking for ducks and found some pretty flowers along the way.

We listen to kids music in the van. Sometimes I wonder why because I get so tired of it. I remember as kids changing words in a song and thinking it was so funny and clever. Anyways, there is a song that says, "Every helping hand leads to a heart." Isaac likes to sing, "Every helping hand leads to a fart." lol.

At Isaac's school, the 4yo Preschool Classes put on a talent show for all the other classes each year. This year, they still did the talent show, but only for their own class. Ammon and I though for a few days what talent we should help Isaac to perform. Isaac is really good at teaching other kids how to do slightly naughty things, so Ammon suggested that minutes before the talent show starts, we teach Isaac how to do a whoopie Cushion and then his talent can be to teach all the other kids. I can hear his laughter in my head. That is something Isaac would absolutely love doing. However, we choose a more...appropriate...talent. We had him do science experiments. He LOVED it!

Conner has become such a great reader this year! Sometimes when I hear him read I'm surprised. Tonight I came in to hear him reading a book to Emma (whose attention had already run out so she was playing).

Happy 4th Birthday, Caleb! We typically do a Chuck-E-Cheese family dinner for 3rd birthdays, but were unable to do it last year, so we did it for his 4th birthday instead! We had so much fun!

We normally invite the family over for cake and ice cream, but none of our local family could come. Earlier in the day, Caleb asked if his friend, Jade, could come. We said Sure! We were glad they didn't have any plans that night, because we had a great time celebrating with them!
Caleb asked for a dinosaur cake. When I asked if he wanted it to be shaped like a dinosaur, he said that no, he wanted it to be our normal round cakes with dinosaur sprinkles and dinosaurs on top.

Today at Caleb's preschool they learned about butterflies. They went outside to the butterfly garden and practiced catching some. Kids are just so cute!

This girl! LOL! Everyday I feed the kids lunch. When they're done, I eat my lunch which almost always has a salad as part of it. Most days Emma comes over and begs for some of my salad. Today, she was pretending to be a kitten. How can I say no?

Isaac got a granola bar from his soccer game. It's just a regular chewy granola bar. I asked Isaac, "Are you going to eat your granola bar?"
Isaac responded, "Nah."
A few minutes later I hear Conner say, "Isaac! You got an energy bar!?!"
Isaac replied, "An ENERGY bar?! I want that!"
Oh great. That is just what Isaac needs on this rainy, stay inside day. More energy. Can you hear all my sarcasm?

I was in the backyard sprinkling bug killer on ant nests. Isaac said there was one over by him so I go over there and sees about 3 ants. I explain, "Isaac, I only put ant killer on ant nests, you know, ant homes."
Isaac replies, "Well, I'm just sure that there is one here. I must have already ruined it."
I explain, "Well, if you had ruined the ant nest, there would be tons of ants coming out of it."
Isaac, completely serious, replies, "They're probably just watching tv."
Because, ya know, if he were watching tv and our house was being ruined, he'd just sit there and keep watching tv. Actually. He probably would. Haha!

Today at preschool, Caleb learned about rhythm.  They got to use buckets as drums and pool noodles as drum sticks. They played their drums along with music. It was so cute! Emma really wanted to join in, and the sweet teacher let her have a set to play too!
