Jubilant June

My sweet baby Caleb

June 7, 2017
I have fond memories of growing up and my dad would make Chocolate Chip Cookies. It was always so much fun to try to be as sneaky as we could to "steal" some cookie dough. My dad was the best; as an adult, I'm sure he was pretending not to see. My boys share the same love of cookie dough! And love to sneak it as well!
Someday you'll get to enjoy the yumminess of cookie dough too, Caleb.
We haven't been getting out of the house as much lately as we are use to. It's just so hard when  you have a newborn. Today we got some much needed fresh air!

Because Conner didn't get to go to Grandpa and Grandma Dietz house in May, they took him for a special outing today. The went to the store and he got to pick out this super cool Mickey car. He loves it!
I see a lot of bike rides with Grandpa Eggett in Isaac's future. He loves bikes! Whenever he sees one, he says "a-mine" to tell you it's his bike. And he wants to get on it too!

We had an awesome day celebrating Conner's 3rd birthday. Ammon and I have chosen to do birthday parties for our kids odd birthdays, and a family gathering for their even birthdays. That means this was a birthday party year! We decided instead of us giving him presents (he'll get presents from his friends and extended family) we were going to have a birthday party somewhere fun. We decided on The Jumpy Place. It's a play center that has a bunch of blowup toys. We invited Conner's friends and cousins. We had pizza and cake and ice cream. It was such a fun party!

Conner LOVED his cake! It was a fun one to make! I wish I had made it two layers though, we had a lot of people at the party so everyone got really small pieces.

This party boy didn't want to stop for a second to get a picture with his mom. How embarrassing!
Conner is such a sweet, loving boy. He's always concerned about everyone else's feelings and wants to make everyone happy. He is very obedient. Even if he doesn't want to do what your asking him to do, he will do it anyways (with moaning and whining so you know he doesn't want to). We sure love our Conner and know he is going to accomplish great things in his life!
Caleb slept through most of the party! haha

Conner got the game "Cooties" for his birthday and loves playing the bug game! He'll play with his bug for a while after we're done with the game of putting it together!

Caleb wants to play...just kidding, he wants to sleep!

The kids can earn a few smarties when we are getting in the car. To earn them they have to get in their own car seat (not somebody elses) and start bucking. This is to motivate them not to play around when we are trying to go somewhere. Today as we were getting in the van to go home, Conner earned his smarties. When we were almost home (it was nearing afternoon naptime), Conner asked me "Where's my treat?" It's not uncommon for him to drop it, and I always respond, "We'll find it when we get home." But then he said something about it being "in here" and kept asking about his treat. I asked him if he had dropped it and he said no. When we got home I asked him where it went and he pointed to his nose. I looked and sure enough, there it was; lodged way up in there! OH GREAT! He just turned 3 and he's already shoving things up his nose! I call Ammon and we decide I need to take him to Texas MedClinic to get it removed. Which means I (preferably) have to find somebody to watch the other kids while they're napping. I call Melissa (my SIL) and decide I'll go pick up her 11 year old daughter to sit with the other kids while they're napping and I take Conner to get it removed. After picking her up and we're driving home, Ammon calls me again and starts discussing ideas of how to remove it on our own that he found online. One of which is using a vacuum. LIGHT BULB! I can try to use our NoseFrida! When we get home, I try it and the hardest part is everytime I stopped sucking on it to grab it, Conner would sniff in, sucking it back in a bit! But wala! I got it out! And it had dissolved a lot; so my take away from that was, if it's a candy that quickly dissolves, don't freak out. It'll just melt away soon!

I think every mother loves the moment when it gets really silent, they start to wonder what mischief their kids are getting into and when they find them, they're actually playing/reading nicely together!

For Father's Day the boys got Daddy a few things. But this one was really fun. It's a back rub shirt. If Daddy wants a back rub, he just puts this shirt on and the boys play cars on his back (that's the back rub).

Isaac loves to wear other people's shoes. When we're at a family gathering, he'll pick out his favorite shoes from the pile. And when it's time to go, he will bring everyone their shoes. We're not sure how he knows which shoes belong to which person, but he normally does!

You'll wear shoes soon too, Caleb.

One of Conner's friends gave him a gift card to Toys R Us for his birthday. Today we went to spend it. We walked around looking at all sorts of toys but this is the one he wanted. Hands down! He was so proud to buy it by himself!

Conner asked me to take his picture today. So here ya go!
