Best Big Brother

Conner is always so sweet with Isaac. Everytime he cries, Conner runs over to give him a kiss to help him feel better, and sometimes will take him a book to "read" to him. Grandpa and Grandma Dietz came to visit us over Easter weekend and brought the boys this really fun Lightning McQueen car. Conner has loved pushing it around. Today, I was sitting on the back porch holding Isaac and Conner was pushing it around. He came over to me and said, "Isaac car". And I said, "You want Isaac to ride in the car?" and Conner said "Yes." I told Conner that Isaac was too little, but Conner didn't think so, he came over to me and attempted to pick up Isaac. I said Okay and I helped Isaac sit up in the car while Conner pushed him around. I think Conner would have done it all morning long, but I can only walk around bent over like that for so long. Conner sure loves his little brother!

Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Dietz! We love the car!

Birthday Celebration

We have decided that each year for Carter and Tanner's birthday, we want to do some kind of service project. This year I thought it just might not happen, because, well, we're just busy with two kids so young. But then Ammon reminded me that it didn't have to be anything big. We decided to go to the water ways (where rain water gets collected to prevent flooding) and pick up trash. We actually had a pretty fun time! Afterwards we went out for dinner.

This cracked me up. Conner got dinosaur chicken nuggets for dinner. The first thing he did was bite off all of their heads! Lol! All boy.

Free Ice Cream and more

Today was free ice cream cones at Dairy Queen. Now, my Utah experience with free things is that it will be so packed busy that it's not worth it, but my Texas experience with free stuff is pretty short to no lines! So off we went to DQ!

Conner loved his ice cream cone!

Love me a sleepy boy!

Isaac was crying - this was pre-rolling over - so Conner took him some books to help him be happy. He is such a loving, kind big brother!

Conner likes to ask to sit on the potty. He never really goes, but he will sit there for 10 seconds before he says he's done. Lately he's been pretty good about telling me when he has pooped his diaper. I really didn't think he was ready to be potty trained, but thought I'd give it a try one day to see where he was at.

I bought training underwear, you know the thick ones that absorb a lot. I even read about a lady who added extra flannel into it to help soak up the pee and then a cute waterproof layer on the outside to keep it in the underwear. I'd also heard of people who give their kids tons to drink to help them need to go to the bathroom more often, to give them more chances of being successful on the potty.

I had 6 training underwear, gatorade, chocolate chips (reward for success) and a potty that I'd put in the family room while he watched tv. It turned out to be one of those days where as a mother I just laughed all morning long at myself for thinking this was a good idea.

The potty training was suppose to be an all day thing. By 10:30am he had already peed in all of his underwear and we were done. Let's look at the positive side, we lasted 3 hours! I decided the idea of tons of fluids wasn't so great. He peed a ton! I think he had just as many successes as wet underwear. And I even ended up cleaning pee off the tile floor because he peed so much.

I gave Conner ONE chocolate chip, and this is what he looked like. How do you do this? If somebody gives me one chocolate chip it's in my mouth, I don't want to miss out on a single bit of it!

Last Sunday Ammon was at meetings which left me by myself getting me and the boys ready for church. It felt like a HUGE win when I got Conner in his church clothes - it was a wrestling match. Let me tell you! I decided to take a picture of my victory, and he was already off, hammering away! This picture captures Conner so well! Active, happy, fun!

2016-03-01

These are my adorable boys!

We put rock in our flower beds, and Conner loved playing with Daddy's old truck while we worked!

I love when they play together!

Isaac seems to be a little more reserved with his smiles, but once you get him laughing, it's courageous!
