October 2020

 October 1, 2020
Today was dress like a Cowboy at school for Isaac...I know a week late, right? But he still had a great time! He named his horse "Fly". I don't think he gets the humor in that name...horsefly.

Ammon took Conner and Isaac to the Lowe's and needed extra space in the van, so he took out Caleb's carseat. In an attempt to not be left home, he got in his carseat. It didn't work, he still stayed home! Lol! It reminds me of a story from when I was a kid. My Mom was taking Elise and me somewhere. Kimberly wanted to go too, so she went and got in the van. I don't remember if my Mom knew Kimberly was in the van, or if we truly needed to take the truck, but either way, the three of us got in the truck and drove away, leaving Kimberly very upset.

The boys got these SmashEm' toys from the treasure chest - it's a squishy Paw Patrol character inside a red ball. The red balls have become Poke-Balls in our house. I guess in Pokemon, you throw a red and white ball at creatures, and if you hit the creature, it's captured inside the ball.  Emma has watched them and knows what to do with the Poke-Balls.

This is the face Emma makes when she sees a picture/video of herself. So cute!
After we were done looking at pictures, I set Emma down, stood up and while walking out of the room said, "Come on Emma." I looked behind me and found she had done one of her favorite things...stole my chair!

Apparently Caleb likes ketchup.
That's a veggie straw he is using as a straw.

Conner lost another tooth tonight! Third one!

Emma got some new shoes. I asked her to show them to me and she posed. LOL!

Conner and Isaac have been taking Jiu Jitsu. It is a form of self-defense in the martial arts. Tonight they learned a take down where you pull on their leg then sit on them. At the end of class, Isaac got to spar with Master Jay to practice his new moves!

Grandma Eggett is in town so we went to Jungle Jam! We had a great time!

When Emma doesn't want to take a nap, I found a way to get her to take one without crying. I tell her dolly needs a nap, and can you lay with her until she falls asleep?

On the weekend we let the boys get up at 7am and watch TV so that Ammon and I can sleep in. Every "tv morning" Caleb will come into our bedroom around 7:30 and say, "I'm hungwe" in his adorable voice. It melts my heart and I never want to forget it!

Caleb's city preschool class is located in the education center at Fischer Park. So while he was at school today, Emma and I played at the playground!

She was swinging and making monkey sounds!

I told the kids that it was time for bed and to head upstairs... I watched as Emma ran AWAY from the stairs and proceeded to hide from me...

Emma is a year and half and old enough to try out the Powell's spider box. At first she is not phased by the spider, but the more she sees it, the less she likes it! I love this age because she won't remember it by next year, so it'll be "new" again!

Tonight in Isaac's prayer he said, "...please bless me tomorrow to not hit, punch, pinch.....slap.....or take him down so he hits his head on the floor." I was thinking, "Wow, he really thought that out!" LOL

Tonight was the church Halloween party! We did a trunk or treat in the parking lot.
We have 3 kids from Paw Patrol: Isaac is Marshal, Caleb is Chase and Emma is Skye. And Conner is a Storm Trooper from  Star Wars.

Happy Halloween! Earlier in the week we carved our pumpkins:

For dinner we ate pizza and had some soda to go with it. Emma's cup still had plenty of soda in it but she was asking for more. We explained that she still had some in her cup, so she couldn't have more and she was devastated! LOL

Time to go out trick or treating! Isaac decided he wanted to be Gekko (his costume from last year), so Caleb decided he wanted to be Marshal. There were more people passing out candy this year than last year when it was raining. We went around our block on both sides of the street and the kids said they had enough!
