Jazzed July

You know, there aren't too many good emotions that start with J and there are THREE months that start with J. Time to get creative!
July 4, 2017
We started the morning with a church 4th of July Pancake Breakfast, which I was in charge of. It was a lot of fun! That night we had a yummy steak dinner then headed to the Landa Golf Course to watch the city fireworks. We have our favorite spot to sit and we enjoyed the firework show! Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures the whole day! Bummer. But I did get a picture of my boys all wearing their matching ties I made for them the Sunday before the 4th of July!

When Ammon leaves for work in the morning, he gets a smothering of hugs and kisses. If Conner doesn't feel like he had enough opportunities to say good bye, give hugs and kisses, etc, he gets sad. So today, we sent him a little video so that Conner could be happy again.

Our first time to the children's museum since Caleb was born with just Momma! Yay for getting out of the house!

Even though we now have a wooden train set at home, the first thing Conner always goes for at the children's museum is their train set!

Isaac is such a turkey! He has figured out the toddler proof cabinets. He doesn't get into the kitchen items in the cabinets, just opens then and stands there smiling at me until I notice. He just wants to make sure I know that the locks aren't keeping him out. Conner is 3 and never shown any interest in opening the cabinets. I asked Conner if he knew how to open them and he said yes. I had him show me and sure enough, he CAN open them, he just never does. What different personalities these two boys have!

In our laundry room we have a rug that we have deemed the crying spot. The idea is that when the kids are having big emotions, they can go sit on the rug until they've calmed down. It's okay to have emotions, but it's important to know how to express them. Isaac is young enough that we haven't really started using the crying spot yet. However today, he got upset, started crying and took himself to the crying spot. Parenting Win!

We are suppose to leave tonight for a weekend getaway to Galveston, so of course that means that fate is going to work against us. Conner woke up this morning with a really bad limp. We're not sure what happened. But he limps when he's walking and sometimes it'll just give out on him and he'll fall to the ground. And when he tries to run I cringe. I'm afraid he's going to overextend his knee! So I took all the kids to the chiropractor (last minute appointment, drop everything and go kind of thing) to see if there was just something out of alignment in his back. Nope. Our wonderful chiropractor couldn't find anything, so he recommended we go to the pediatrician (and didn't charge us for the appointment by the way). So then I got Grandma Dietz to take the younger two while I took Conner to the pediatrician. Remember how we're suppose to be leaving tonight; I'm not getting any packing done today. At the pediatrician's, he doesn't find anything obvious, so he sends us to the imaging center to get x-rays. This picture is taken at the imaging center while we're waiting for his turn. It's been a long afternoon so far! They tell us they'll send the images to the pediatrician and then they will call us. If he needs a cast, we will have to go to a children's hospital. So Ammon and I are trying to figure out if we could go to a children's hospital on our way to Galveston. We've already paid for the hotel and the place we're going on Saturday, so cancelling the trip would mean loosing that money. As Conner and I get home, the pediatricians office calls. No broken bones, just a really bad sprain. Ibuprofen and try to keep him from running. Whew! Vacation saved!

We were in need of a weekend getaway. We went to Galveston and spent the day at a place called Moody Gardens. First we went to the aquarium, then to the dinosaur exhibit, then to the inventions exhibit, Rainforst and then to the waterpark. We don't have any pictures of the waterpark, but the boys LOVED it because they had kiddy water slides for them to go down. They had so much fun!

Conner was convinced this was a lizard, but it's really a komodo dragon

After the water park we drove home because Grandpa and Grandma Eggett were driving into town that night!

Today is Cow Appreciation Day at Chick Fil A. If you wear a cow costume, you get a free chicken sandwich! We love to participate!

We discovered this GREAT park over by Ammon's work. We have a park near our house that I think they tried to make like this one, but it's no where near as great. We went for lunch and Ammon came over on his lunch break. I'm sure we'll do this a few times this summer!

With Grandpa and Grandma Eggett in town, we've been spend a lot of time playing with JD and Maia. Conner was the last one eating dinner tonight and I was in the family room. It got oddly quiet so I decided I'd better check on Conner. Passed out. Poor boy played his heart out with his cousins!

There are two things that Isaac loves. Bikes and Shoes.

Since Grandpa and Grandma Eggett are in town, it's a perfect time for Caleb's Baby Blessing!
Conner really wanted to wear Iron Man to the baby blessing. Luckily I won.
Caleb is loved by so many!
Conner and Isaac did not want to take a picture. They wanted to go eat!
After the baby blessing we had a luncheon for everyone who came. It was a wonderful day!

Love my boys!

One of the fun things we planned to do with Grandpa and Grandma Eggett was to go to a place in San Antonio called Kiddie Park. After Kiddie Park we planned to meet all of our family at a place called Big Lous Pizza. They're famous for their ginormous pizzas. We bought the kids their all-day passes to Kiddie Park on groupon and drove up there. But they were closed! Quick change of plans and we rode the train around Brackenridge Park instead. Then we went to a really fun playground near downtown in Hemisfair Park. We've been there once before with JD and Maia. Then we headed to Big Lous for dinner. We ordered the 42" pizza...almost 4 feet of pizza. And we finished it all! It was such a fun experience!

"Aunt Aweese" gave my kids their wooden train set that they don't play with anymore and Conner LOVES it! He plays with it most days! Thanks Elise!

Every year our Stake (chruch) puts on a Pioneer Day Celebration. It's always a lot of fun! Some of the activities we didn't get pictures of are the bouncy houses, relay races, do-it-yourself face painting, and tons of snacks (pickles, nachos, cookies, watermelon, cotton candy, snow cones)
Petting Zoo

 Pony Rides

 Milking Cows
Collecting Chicken Eggs (Can you tell Isaac remembers Easter...where's the candy?)

Conner loves playing with JD and Maia and LOVES their 4-wheeler!

Another hard day of playing with cousins and Grandpa and Grandma Eggett!

July 26,2017
Conner asked to hold Caleb today, so of course I said yes!

July 28, 2017
Isaac's turn to give Caleb lovin's!
Conner asked if he could touch Caleb. This made me laugh!
"I'm Daddy!" I love that my boys want to grow up to be like their daddy!

Conner has been asking for "shoes like JD's" for a while now, so tonight he and I had some one-on-one time and we went to the store to buy him some flip flops. He was so excited!

July 29, 2017
Elise and her kids came over today and the kids got to play in the backyard pools. The slide got the kids going pretty fast! I thought it looked like fun!

It seems like whenever we pull one of our baby items out of the attic, Conner and Isaac both have to test it out before it's Caleb's turn! haha

Conner and Aria hugging. Aria is the little girl that I watch.
