Last weekend we watched JD and Maia while Elise was out of town, in return and as a birthday present, she watched our kids this weekend and let us use her time share to go to Marble Falls, TX for a weekend getaway. We had fun! This pie is from the famous Blue Bonnet Cafe.

 When we got home from our weekend getaway, Elise and the kids had made me birthday cake pops and a birthday cake!

Conner loves to make silly faces!

We go to the Children's museum about once a week. We love it there and have so much fun!

 This picture cracks me up. As soon as we see the pretend fire, Conner says "We don't touch fire! It's hot!" at the same time Isaac is climbing into the pretend fire. This very much demonstrates their personalities. Conner is a rule follower and Isaac is always pushing his limits.

Conner was having a rough day. He just wasn't happy with anything. Cranky about everything. I had to run some errands, so I took him with me to let there be some peace at home. We got to Joann's and Conner found this huge basket of balls. He got one out and asked me to play with him. we kicked the ball back and forth down this isle for at least 5 minutes. It made his day! His attitude completely changed. Although many days he exhausts me with his energy, I'm so glad he is a sweet, active, loving little boy.

This morning for breakfast we had homemade raspberry rolls. Mmmmm. These are one of my absolute favorite treats! My mouth waters just thinking about them!

 Then I hosted a Valentine's Day Playgroup Party this morning. We were going to have it in our backyard, but because of the weather, we moved it to the church. I made all sorts of yummy Valentine's Day treats! Other people brought some snacks to share as well. All the kids got to decorate a brown bag, and then pass out Valentine's into them. It was so much fun! We'll probably do it again next year!

As kids my dad always gave us girls a small box of chocolates on Valentine's Day. I loved it so I decided to continue the tradition with my own kids. Each year I get my boys a small box of chocolates.

While playing in the backyard Conner brought me these leaves and asked if he could show them to Grandma. So  I took a picture and sent it to Grandma!

Ammon and Conner went with Kendall, Talmage and Rigdon on a boys camping trip. They had a lot of fun!

Since Conner was gone camping, it was just Isaac and I hanging out together. I had to try to think back to what does a 1 year old like to do? Most of the time these days, we do what Conner likes to do, and Isaac comes along and also likes it. But what would a 1 year old love to do when he has one-on-one time with his Momma? So we went to the park!

I purchased some character costumes off of a craigslist type website for the kids to wear while they're playing. I showed them to Conner and he said they were scary. So I decided to make some make-believe vests for the kids to wear. I am really happy with how they turned out!

Conner wanted to say hi to Grandma this morning, so we sent her this little video.

 

I went into Conner's bedroom to get him up from his nap and couldn't find him. I knew there was no way he could have got out of his room, but I couldn't find him! I was starting to worry when I finally found him. I still can't believe he fell asleep like this! It looks so incredibly uncomfortable!

Conner drew this picture and then showed it to me, "Look Mom, it's an elephant; and here is it's tail!" I was impressed because it has a head, body and tail. Way to go Conner!

After taking the trash outside, Conner didn't want to go back inside, so he pretended to fall asleep. He thought that if he was asleep, I would just leave him there and go inside and then he could keep playing outside.

"Mom, I'm skiing!" I was impressed he knew what skis were, then I realized he learned on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I was still impressed that he could apply what he had learned by taking 2 pieces of wood, stand on them and slide around on them.

When an adult really likes a dessert, they scrape their plate clean, not missing a single crumb. But when kids really like a dessert, they smear it everywhere! Lol! Isaac really liked the chocolate cake!

Today we made rainbow necklaces with fruitloops. It's one of our favorite snacks! It's kind of like a candy necklace, but the kids use their hand eye coordination to get the fruit loops onto the yarn. I have these plastic (not sharp) needles that we use. It's a lot of fun!

Today while playing in the backyard, Conner decided he wanted to ride his  motorcycle down the slide. I told him it wasn't a good idea, but he really wanted to do it. So I decided to video record it for America's Funniest Videos.

I guess it'll never make it on AFV since he didn't actually go down on the motorcycle. But I'm happy that he didn't because it means no injuries!

Grandpa and Grandma Eggett gave us a year long pass to the local children's museum. We went for the first time and had SO MUCH FUN! I'm sure we will be going a lot this year!

Isaac and this little girl sat on the bench swing together for a long time just swinging. It was so cute!

We went to the gymnastic gym's open play time today. Isaac and Aria had fun on this toy together and it reminded me the church nursery growing up because they had one of these!

Gender Reveal

Tonight we had the family over for a gender reveal! Conner ate into a cupcake with colored cream in it. He had no idea what he was doing or what he was revealing, but it was fun anyways!
