November 2018

November 3, 2018
We got to drop Conner and Isaac at the Cranmer's house and go out on a date night. Conner and Isaac were having a sleepover, and Caleb isn't quite ready for sleepovers yet, so he got to go on our date with us!
We went to Hopdoddy Burgers for dinner and then walked through Zilker Park. Caleb is so funny, even when his brothers aren't around, he is copying them! There was a ledge so he had to climb up it and walk on it and then jump off of it when it ended, just like Conner and Isaac would have if they had been there!

Today is Isaac's 3rd birthday! We do birthday parties on our kids odd birthdays, but we felt like at the age of 3, Isaac doesn't have many friends to invite to a party. Instead we went to Chuck E Cheese for dinner. Which was the perfect choice! The kids had a blast, which means as a parent we had fun because our kids are having fun!

That night all of the family came over for cake and ice cream. Kids are so much fun! And when they are so excited, it's hard to pick just a few pictures, so here's a whole bunch!

PJ Mask is Isaac's absolute favorite right now, so almost all his presents have to do with PJ Masks!

After everyone left, we remembered we had one more gift in the laundry room that we forgot to give to Isaac!

Conner got a sleeping bag for his birthday in June and Isaac has been so jealous! He couldn't wait to use his own brand new sleeping bag! They got to have a camp out in their sleeping bags in their under the bed forts!

We love you so much Isaac! You bring so much excitement and energy to our family! You constantly are teaching me to think outside the box by doing things I would never think of.

I took the boys to the $5 store and let each of them pick out a present for Ammon. Ammon loved it because the boys were so excited about the gifts they bought him. It was a fun experience because each of the boys basically just picked out a toy that they wanted! A remote control car, remote control helicopter and a nerf gun tank; so of course they all played with the new toys! He also got some things he had been wanting (grill thermometer and a skillet).
None of Ammon's family came for his birthday, so we bought our favorite chocolate cake for his birthday treat! It was so delicious!

Conner's preschool did a Thanksgiving Feast that parents were invited to attend. It was so cute! The kids all made their own place mats and the table decorations (the corn).

Conner said, "Mom, I don't like pickles. Can I take this home for Dad to eat?"

One of our favorite things about our town is the city activities they do, especially in November and December. We went to downtown to watch Santa come to town tonight and the lighting of town square! We met up with our friend, Aria!

If you look to the right of Santa, you can see Ammon with Conner on his shoulders! Santa comes to town riding on a fire truck each year!

Thanksgiving! This year we did something new that I think is going to become a tradition for us...and it involves putting up our Christmas tree early in November. If you are strongly opposed to this, stop reading now. Haha! After putting our Holiday Tree up, we started decorating it with Thanksgiving decoration! We had the kids make them. It was so much fun!

Another tradition that we started a few years ago, is each day in November the kids say one thing they are thankful for. We write it on a leaf and put it on a paper tree. I love this tradition! It helps the kids think deeper.

November 23-25, 2018
The day after Thanksgiving we left to go camping. In Texas, it is a beautiful time of year to go camping! Warm during the day and a wee bit chilly at night. Perfect camping weather! We went to Enchanted Rock State Preserve. They have about 30 campsites there and there were at least 10 sites that were LDS! Crazy! We didn't know any of them, but you meet them quickly when your kids are wearing BYU hats! Besides us, there were two other group who had come together. We had fun with campfires and the play ground and hiking.

Our scary story for this camp out: On our first night there, we had a fire going. It was dark out and we had finished roasting marshmallows. It was getting a little chilly so I had put a winter coat on Caleb. We had the kids come over to the picnic table to clean their hands using baby wipes. Caleb didn't want to so he went back over by the fire, which he wasn't allowed to be over there by himself. Caleb starts pulling a kids camp chair closer to the fire (his back is to the fire). So Ammon started walking over to him. Caleb saw Ammon coming and quickly backed up to get away from him, tripping on the fire pit ring and falling into the fire. Ammon and I ran to him and got him out of the fire. I tried to get the coat off of him but the zipper was stuck. Adrenalin running, I just ripped the zipper and pulled the coat off of him. Amazingly, Caleb was perfectly fine. His coat was ruined, but he was fine. We felt so blessed.

Throwing rocks into the water

We went over a couple of bridges while we were hiking. Each time, we told the story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff. The boys absolutely loved it and were sad when there were no more bridges!

We (try to) always decorate the Christmas Tree the weekend of Thanksgiving! We are still in the only-decorate-the-top-half phase of parenting...Actually, for us it's the middle 1/3. Our tree is really tall so the top 1/3 we can't reach. Haha

I have to add this picture because it shows Conner wearing this basketball shirt backwards. The front of the shirt only has the number 15 on it, so he chooses to wear it backwards so that he can see the basketball and the hoop. Cute boy!

Delightful December

December 2, 2017
Tonight we went to our church's Christmas Social. They invited all the kids up on stage to sing some Christmas songs and then Santa came in. All of the kids just sat there as if they didn't know what to do, so Conner went up and sat on his lap first. He had an easy request: a candy cane! Isaac got on his lap next. They both made a huge mess with their candy canes but they loved them.

It makes me happy when all the kids are playing peacefully! Conner playing with cars, Caleb with his toys and Isaac reading books!

Isaac can be such a goofball! I often time find him sleep like this: pillow as blanket and blanket as his pillow!

Caleb is rolling over now, and when he rolls over while sleeping, it wakes him up. So we put him in the diaper changing pad to sleep, because the small "walls" on it keep him from rolling over. He was pretty proud today that he managed to roll over in it! Stinker!

Snow! Can you believe it?! Elise texted me first and asked if it was snowing here in New Braunfels and I laughed. Then she sent a picture of them (in Austin) and it was snowing there! It didn't take long and it started snowing here too! What a super fun and unexpected winter surprise!

We were so cold from playing in the snow that Conner and Isaac took a bath. Isaac wanted to get out of the bathtub, but then was trying to be all sneaky and get back in. I believe there is a similar story of me doing that when I was little...

December 8, 2017
The next morning Conner was so excited to play in the snow that he didn't want to wait for me to make breakfast, so he grabbed a piece of bread and headed out to play!

Tonight we met up with the Cranmers and went to The Salt Lick for dinner and then to Johnson City to see all the Christmas lights. We got to go on a hay ride, see the electric company, dance to music and see Santa and Mrs. Claus! We had a lot of fun!
This is the electric company located in Johnson City. They put up all these lights! It is incredibly beautiful!

Conner started making "snow angels" in the rocks. It didn't look very comfortable to me, but this just proves how much he loves snow!

Caleb has joined the big boys sleeping upstairs! Up til now he has been sleeping in the pack n play in our master closet. This morning I found the boys playing with Caleb. What turkeys!

December 21, 2017
Poor buddy wasn't happy about staying up late while Dad and Mom are tiling. His big brothers loved it though!

What a cute boy!

Conner asked earlier in December if he could have a birthday party and birthday cake. I explained to him that it isn't his birthday, it's Jesus' birthday. He started insisting that we have a birthday cake for Jesus. I Pinterested it, and having a birthday party/cake for Jesus is really a thing. So I said why not?! We went to Cranmer's house for Christmas Dinner (well, we did lunch so that we wouldn't be out too late) and had a birthday cake for Jesus. While we weren't looking, Isaac got into the cake. Twice.

Merry Christmas!
Christmas morning we celebrated with our own family. That afternoon we exchanged gifts with the Powell family. That evening we exchanged gifts with Grandpa and Grandma Dietz. December 28th we did Christmas with the Eggett side of the family. And December 30 we exchanged gifts with the Strasser family. It was so much fun spreading Christmas throughout the week! But it made get pictures of all the cool new things our kids got hard. Please forgive me if I missed something you gave them! I'm hoping between the movies and pictures we captured all of it!

This Christmas morning video is a little long, so feel free to just watch the first little bit!

These cool kids sunglasses are flexible. So they can take some mishandling before the lenses pop out (but can be put back in). They're not suppose to be able to break (fingers crossed).

We have felt for a long time that it is time to get our kids a trampoline. They are very active boys and we think that it will be a great way for them to get their energy out! Watch as they discover their new trampoline!

We are in love with this trampoline. It is 8' across and 2' off the ground. It is the PERFECT size for our kids!

These are magnetic building tiles. They're really fun to play with!

Caleb with his new trucks and puff snacks!

These boys got some pretty cool gifts this year!

We get some pretty good rainy seasons, so this will definitely be used!

Grandpa and Grandma came into town and we did so many fun things! We went to the children's museum, The Jumpy Place, Costco, celebrated New Years and went out to eat for breakfast! Here are a few pictures from The Jumpy Place.

We can't forget to be Cougar fans, even on New Years Eve!

Happy New Years Eve!

Since Grandpa and Grandma Eggett are in town, we decided to have a traditional Eggett New Years Eve. That means we had a lot of yummy appetizers throughout the night as our dinner! We had so much fun!

I planned activities throughout the night. I did a bad job of getting pictures of them, but here's a list of what we did!
Our Balloon Board...hmmm...I wish I had a short video of how it works. It's pretty awesome...
Saran Wrap Ball (a ball of saran wrap with candy in it. You have to unwrap it with tongs and collect candy as you go. But the dice determine how long you get to work on it before the next person's turn!)
New Years Eve Bingo
Balloon tied to ankle game (where you run around trying to pop everyone's balloons)
Made Ice Cream (we got a Yaylabs Ice Cream Ball for Christmas and had to try it out. Google it, they're really cool!)
Pop Its it was cold outside, but the kids loved them!

And then for the grand finale, a balloon drop! We used Netflix Beat Bugs New Years Eve Countdown.

Goodbye 2017, Welcome 2018!
