July 2021

July 4, 2021
Caleb doesn't take naps anymore, but occasionally we'll find him asleep in the afternoon if he sits still for too long! Haha. This afternoon there was a thunderstorm, so Caleb put on "head phones" aka ear protection so that he couldn't hear the thunder (he doesn't like loud noises). He quickly fell asleep!

We had some friends over for a BBQ and then we all went to the city fireworks together. We had a great night! The park where we sit for the best view of the fireworks has live music, yard games and is close to a swimming spot on the Comal River. It is always very hot and very humid on the 4th of July, so the couple of hours we spend at the park before the fireworks can be dreaded, but we had a great time!

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays! I love the fireworks! I miss being able to do them in front of our house, but the city fireworks are pretty amazing! And we had such fabulous company this year!

This year has been extra rainy. So much so that I installed an outdoor shower in the back yard so we could wash all the mud off before they come inside. Caleb only needs a quarter sized puddle of mud and he is covered from head to toe. It seems that Emma loves the mud as well...

Emma loves to put food on her chin and then say, "Ho Ho Ho! Santa!" I think its super cute, so here's a few short videos of it...sometimes she'll put it on her chin and then say "Mess!"

I took the boys to one of the Summer Movies today, we had a great time!

July 21, 2021
Grandpa and Grandma Eggett came into town yesterday, so we got to bring them to the summer movies today!

July 23, 2021
One of my kids favorite things to do when Grandpa and Grandma Eggett are in town is to "go to the restaurant with chocolate-chip pancakes!" We had a great breakfast at Denny's today!

My parents and I went to Costco while Ammon stayed home with the kids. They had a dance party while we were gone and here are some of the highlights:

Later Ammon and I got to go on an overnight getaway while Grandpa and Grandma stayed with the kids. It's been a long time since we've gotten to get away for a night (Sept 2019), and the last time, we took Emma with us because she was so little. This was our first time leaving all 4 kids home over night! We headed to Austin where we went to the Texas State Art Museum. Then we went to a restaurant overlooking Lake Travis. The restaurant is located in a little strip mall with a few other stores. Our favorite little store was a boutique full of artsy stuff. Ammon and I agreed that we liked the art store more than the art museum! haha

July 24, 2021
The next morning we went exploring and found a fun creek that people were swimming in. We'll have to bring the kids to Bull Creek sometime, they'd love it!

July 25, 2021
Emma loves to try on shoes...

Grandpa brought one of the kids' favorite books...The Book With No Pictures. I'm pretty sure they read it every day and couldn't stop laughing the whole time it was being read, and for hours afterwards they were quoting the book!

On Monday, Conner and Isaac started VBS. Grandpa and Grandma would do a special activity in the morning with Caleb and Emma, and then in the afternoon after VBS was over, they would do something special with Conner and Isaac. This worked out so well!
Today, Caleb and Emma got to ride the train at Landa Park and play on the playground.

Today, Caleb lucked out and got invited to go with the big boys in the afternoon to go bowling.

July 27, 2021
VBS - We carpooled with one of Conner's neighborhood friends from school. They were in the same group, which was a lot of fun!

Both in the morning with the little two, and in the afternoon with the older two, Grandpa and Grandma took the kids to Animal World Zoo. It was a hot day, but they still had fun!

July 28, 2021
Grandpa and Grandma got to go to the Children's Museum twice today. They had a great times with the littles in the morning and the bigs in the afternoon!

Febrauary 2019

February 15, 2019
Ammon and I got to go out on a date so we went to our favorite restaurant. It's a hole-in-the-wall Thai place in San Antonio. YUM! My mouth waters just thinking about it! Our favorite is to get one item from each course and share it. This is the meal I could eat every day and never get tired of it. Delicious!

Okay, this time we got two appetizers, egg rolls and won tons

Thom Kha Soup

Pad Thai

Sticky Rice with Coconut Ice Cream
We love their Sticky Rice with Mango, but it's seasonal

Practicing our swaddle skills before baby girl arrives!

Conner loves to sing songs, so I finally recorded him singing them! He is such a cute boy!

February 25-26, 2019
One of our favorite places for a weekend getaway is to Dinosaur World and LegoLand Discovery Center! Our kids ask to go back all the time, out of the blue. The love sleeping in a hotel too. We didn't get to go to the splashpad at LegoLand this time because it was too cold. I guess we will just have to go back again! It was great going on a Tuesday (previously we've always gone on the weekend). It was a lot less crowded so we got to ride the rides and watch the movies whenever we wanted to!

After a fun weekend trip, I always feel pretty proud of Ammon and I when the kids fall asleep in the car. I think there is a rate of the quicker they fall asleep, the better job we did at planning an awesome weekend!

November 2018

November 3, 2018
We got to drop Conner and Isaac at the Cranmer's house and go out on a date night. Conner and Isaac were having a sleepover, and Caleb isn't quite ready for sleepovers yet, so he got to go on our date with us!
We went to Hopdoddy Burgers for dinner and then walked through Zilker Park. Caleb is so funny, even when his brothers aren't around, he is copying them! There was a ledge so he had to climb up it and walk on it and then jump off of it when it ended, just like Conner and Isaac would have if they had been there!

November 11, 2018
Today is Isaac's 3rd birthday! We do birthday parties on our kids odd birthdays, but we felt like at the age of 3, Isaac doesn't have many friends to invite to a party. Instead we went to Chuck E Cheese for dinner. Which was the perfect choice! The kids had a blast, which means as a parent we had fun because our kids are having fun!

That night all of the family came over for cake and ice cream. Kids are so much fun! And when they are so excited, it's hard to pick just a few pictures, so here's a whole bunch!

PJ Mask is Isaac's absolute favorite right now, so almost all his presents have to do with PJ Masks!

After everyone left, we remembered we had one more gift in the laundry room that we forgot to give to Isaac!

Conner got a sleeping bag for his birthday in June and Isaac has been so jealous! He couldn't wait to use his own brand new sleeping bag! They got to have a camp out in their sleeping bags in their under the bed forts!

We love you so much Isaac! You bring so much excitement and energy to our family! You constantly are teaching me to think outside the box by doing things I would never think of.

November 14, 2018
I took the boys to the $5 store and let each of them pick out a present for Ammon. Ammon loved it because the boys were so excited about the gifts they bought him. It was a fun experience because each of the boys basically just picked out a toy that they wanted! A remote control car, remote control helicopter and a nerf gun tank; so of course they all played with the new toys! He also got some things he had been wanting (grill thermometer and a skillet).
None of Ammon's family came for his birthday, so we bought our favorite chocolate cake for his birthday treat! It was so delicious!

November 15, 2018
Conner's preschool did a Thanksgiving Feast that parents were invited to attend. It was so cute! The kids all made their own place mats and the table decorations (the corn).

Conner said, "Mom, I don't like pickles. Can I take this home for Dad to eat?"

One of our favorite things about our town is the city activities they do, especially in November and December. We went to downtown to watch Santa come to town tonight and the lighting of town square! We met up with our friend, Aria!

If you look to the right of Santa, you can see Ammon with Conner on his shoulders! Santa comes to town riding on a fire truck each year!

November 22, 2018
Thanksgiving! This year we did something new that I think is going to become a tradition for us...and it involves putting up our Christmas tree early in November. If you are strongly opposed to this, stop reading now. Haha! After putting our Holiday Tree up, we started decorating it with Thanksgiving decoration! We had the kids make them. It was so much fun!

Another tradition that we started a few years ago, is each day in November the kids say one thing they are thankful for. We write it on a leaf and put it on a paper tree. I love this tradition! It helps the kids think deeper.

November 23-25, 2018
The day after Thanksgiving we left to go camping. In Texas, it is a beautiful time of year to go camping! Warm during the day and a wee bit chilly at night. Perfect camping weather! We went to Enchanted Rock State Preserve. They have about 30 campsites there and there were at least 10 sites that were LDS! Crazy! We didn't know any of them, but you meet them quickly when your kids are wearing BYU hats! Besides us, there were two other group who had come together. We had fun with campfires and the play ground and hiking.

Our scary story for this camp out: On our first night there, we had a fire going. It was dark out and we had finished roasting marshmallows. It was getting a little chilly so I had put a winter coat on Caleb. We had the kids come over to the picnic table to clean their hands using baby wipes. Caleb didn't want to so he went back over by the fire, which he wasn't allowed to be over there by himself. Caleb starts pulling a kids camp chair closer to the fire (his back is to the fire). So Ammon started walking over to him. Caleb saw Ammon coming and quickly backed up to get away from him, tripping on the fire pit ring and falling into the fire. Ammon and I ran to him and got him out of the fire. I tried to get the coat off of him but the zipper was stuck. Adrenalin running, I just ripped the zipper and pulled the coat off of him. Amazingly, Caleb was perfectly fine. His coat was ruined, but he was fine. We felt so blessed.

Throwing rocks into the water

We went over a couple of bridges while we were hiking. Each time, we told the story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff. The boys absolutely loved it and were sad when there were no more bridges!

November 26, 2018
We (try to) always decorate the Christmas Tree the weekend of Thanksgiving! We are still in the only-decorate-the-top-half phase of parenting...Actually, for us it's the middle 1/3. Our tree is really tall so the top 1/3 we can't reach. Haha

I have to add this picture because it shows Conner wearing this basketball shirt backwards. The front of the shirt only has the number 15 on it, so he chooses to wear it backwards so that he can see the basketball and the hoop. Cute boy!
