Tonight we had taco salad for dinner. Conner doesn't like the salad part, so he just gets the meat. After eating dinner we noticed some taco meat on the floor next Isaac's chair where he had been sitting. Upon further investigation, we realized that Conner had tried to feed Isaac some of his taco meat! We don't think that Isaac actually ate any of it, but it's possible! He had taco meat juice and crumbs all around his mouth! If he did eat some, he must have liked it, since he didn't complain about it! We keep a closer eye on Conner now while he's eating.
You may ask how Conner was able to feed Isaac without us noticing. Conner has a kid table and chairs that he loves to sit at. He would rather sit at the kid table by himself than at the "adult" table with us. The kid table is right next to Isaac's chair. We are trying to teach Conner that while he is eating, he isn't allowed to get up from the table, but it's still a work in progress. I eat many many MANY meals at the kid table with him to help him learn. Most of the time this results in me sharing my food with him because, of course, my food looks better (even though it's the same)!
Tonight Isaac wouldn't stop crying. I tried playing with him, I tried not playing with him, checked his diaper, tried a bottle, nothing. Finally I stood him up and like magic he stopped crying. Really? That's all he wanted? Yup! He just wanted to stand up!

Playing Dinosaurs
I was busy in the kitchen working on dinner when I hear Conner talking to Isaac. I look over and Conner had brought his dinosaurs over to Isaac and was playing with him. He had put one right next to Isaac for Isaac to play with and was showing him another dinosaur. This was one of those melt-my-momma-heart moments. I love seeing them interact more and more!

Isaac's First Baby Food: Green Beans
We decided it was finally time to give Isaac his first baby food. We're a little late with him being 5 months, but from what I hear, it's pretty common for the not-first child. The first child the parents are so excited for each new milestone that they do everything as soon as they can. For the subsequent children, they're equally excited, but doubly tired so it doesn't happen quite as promptly.

Shed
Here in Texas houses don't have basements. Us Utahans (use-to-be-Utahans but are now Texans) don't know what to do with all our holiday decorations, kids clothes, camping gear, etc. So we decided to build a shed. We've spent quite a bit of time working on it. Kendall even came over and helped! We love how it has turned out!

Isaac is 5 months young!
In the first year of life I try to take pictures each month-aversary. It doesn't always happen, but I try!
Isaac is growing up so fast! I'm still not sure if he'll keep his blue eyes or not. They're definitely darker than Conner's, but they are blue. Isaac loves when Conner "plays" with him. Conner will clap and say "Yay Isaac!" when Isaac plays the kick piano or when he stands up with help and Isaac gives him the biggest, proudest smile! He loves Conner so much!
Conner's pictures say so much about him!
Owie on head - yup, he falls down a lot, but it's because he loves to play! He always jumps back up with an "Okay!" which is to say, "I'm okay, Momma!" And he wants me to respond, if I don't he'll keep telling he he's okay.
Messy face - Conner is more concerned about getting the food into his mouth than how clean he is. If you tell lhim he has to eat the remaining 1/4 of his sandwich before he can play, you better believe the whole thing is in his mouth before you can blink! He can out eat me, but then again when I go from point A to point B I don't burn nearly as many calories as he does. He's always running, jumping and dodging everywhere he goes. Walking? What's that?
Shirt - He LOVES motorcycles (and trucks, trains, buses, airplanes...). "Here comes Mischief" might be more accurate! He gets this look in his eye and we can tell he's trying to decide if he'll get in trouble or not...
Car on the chair behind him - Yup. He's all boy, loves to play with his cars, trucks and airplanes! He points them out anytime we are outside or in the car!

New Things
Conner did a couple of new things this week that I thought were pretty cute!
He got out the changing pad, got a diaper, went and got the dolly and then changed her diaper. I was impressed. Obviously having a toddler and baby we do this a lot around here, but it impressed me that he thought to do it!
He brought his scooter from Grandpa and Grandma Eggett inside. Which he's really not suppose to do, I don't remember how it got inside, but that's not the point. This was the first time I heard him sing Jesus Wants Me for A Sunbeam. You can't hear him very well, but he's saying "Suuuuun beam!" and jumping on beam as they are taught to do in church!
Today I teasingly put Isaac in Conner's bed at naptime and told Conner he had to share his bed. He happily got in bed with Isaac and was so excited. I snapped this adorable picture of them together. I felt bad that I had got his hopes up, especially when I told Conner that Isaac couldn't really sleep there with him. Conner was upset.
