I saw an idea online for letting your kids paint birthday paintings, so I decided I wanted to give it a try! We used non-toxic paint, because we know Conner - EVERYTHING has to go through a taste test. Sure enough, first thing he did was try the paint. I was planning on keeping his hand away from his mouth, but it shot up there so fast I couldn't catch it in time.
I cut out Conner's name in vinyl and then painted over it with white paint (so if any paint bleeds underneath the vinyl, nobody will ever know because it's white!
What a happy boy!
So proud!
Next up, bath time!
After the paint was dry, I peeled off the vinyl and vola! The finished product!
We decided with it being a 3 day weekend, we needed to get out and see the sights of Texas! We chose to go to Galveston on Saturday and Kemah Boardwalk on Sunday. We packed the 2 days with tons of fun!
In Galveston we spent the afternoon at the beach. We brought toys to play in the sand, but Conner had no interest in playing in the sand. He wanted to be in the water the whole time!
Conner RUNNING to the water!
A video of Conner walking into the water. He had been to a different part of the Gulf of Mexico before, but this was his first time walking into the water.
Conner and Daddy playing in the Gulf of Mexico!
We spent the night in a hotel on the south side of Houston, and then on Sunday we went to Kemah Boardwalk. Kemah is kind of like a carnival that never moves. We had a lot of fun!
Conner and I took a ride on the train!
Conner loves his new found freedom of walking. He gets to go where ever he wants by himself! Well, as long as Mama and Daddy let him... He always walks with his hands up by his head. I assume it's faster to catch himself when he falls with them up there.
Conner got to play a "pick a duck and win a prize" game.
He won a stuffed elephant!
Ammon played this game. He rang the bell 3 times and won a monkey stuffed animal!
I know these pictures aren't all super clear, but they show Conner's personality and they're just so cute! Enjoy!
This is a common sight. Either with a letter magnet (too big to fit all the way in his mouth) or some other toy or non-toy! He has to taste everything! But when it comes to food, he's careful to make sure he likes it before he takes a big bite. Go figure. Goofy kid!
Daddy is tickling Conner
Conner is such a happy boy! We love all his smiles and chuckles. He is so much fun to be around and he absolutely LOVES being around other kids. He's our social butterfly (as my mom use to call me)!
We went to the fairgrounds today for an event, and they had a mini petting zoo with goats, a lama and a piglet. Conner had fun watching them and occasionally petting them!
Conner even got to feed the goats. However, Ammon had to hold Conner's hand to keep him from eating the pellets himself! Yuck!
Conner has been learning "Feet First" on the stairs. He understands that he needs to go feet first, but it is still hard to do because when he's feet first, he can't see the stairs! This is a cute video of him trying to go feet first, but really just backing up parallel to the stairs!
I made some homemade french bread pizza for dinner tonight and Conner liked it :) Well, we all did, but Conner was funny because he ended up with a pepperoni hanging off of his face and had absolutely no clue!
Conner loves his Daddy so so much! If Ammon gets up to turn on/off a light, Conner has to follow. Ammon was mowing the lawn today and I couldn't be out there to watch Conner, so he had to watch Daddy from the back window.
What it looked like from outside. Yup, he's licking the window! Lol, silly boy!
A couple of weeks ago we were having corn on the cob for dinner. I left a small row of corn on my cob to see if Conner would be interested in it. He was interested, but not as excited as he was tonight! Here's a video from his first time with corn on the cob a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately he's too interested in the camera.
Last night I grilled him a whole cob of corn. I didn't think he'd eat the whole thing, but he did!
He did pretty good for a 10 month old! He was biting the corn very hard, I don't think he realized there was a cob in the middle! It was very entertaining to watch!
