Water Table

This summer, with my pregnancy, I have been put on a modified bed rest. This means I can no longer take Conner to the pool by myself. So we decided to get Conner a water table for the backyard. He enjoys it most when he has friends playing in it with him. I watched Craigslist for a very long time for a water table, because we like gently used things for cheaper, but there were never any! We finally decided to buy this one before the summer passed us by.
You will rarely see the boat on the blue stand because Conner thinks that's silly! He gets a great big grin on his face and pushes it off into the water!

He loves to blow bubbles in the water!

Play House Door

After moving into our beautiful house, we discovered some unused, dead space under the stairs. There wasn't any access to the space, but we decided to make the most of it. Ammon has worked hard (and is still working on it) to finish off the space to become a play house. There is an adult access door in the back of our coat closet, but also a child size door from our family room. Grandpa Dietz offered to make the special kid door, and he did a beautiful job!

Right after the Powell's moved to our same city, Grandpa and Grandma Dietz wanted to come see their house and help them. So they finished the door and brought it down to us during the same trip! Conner AND his cousins all love the door! The mail slot is at Conner's current eye level, but once he gets bigger, he'll be able to use the window too! For now, his cousins are more than happy to lift him up to see out the window :)

The Family Birthdays sign will be moved someday and I'm planning on putting some vinyl on the wall above the door welcoming kids into the play house.

Conner and Daddy

Conner loves his Daddy! He runs to the front door when Ammon gets home from work. He loves hanging out with Daddy and "helping".
This picture is a very typical "helping" picture of Conner.
He does this with me and the vacuum too! He wants to be close by to help, so he'll sit right in the way of where you need to go, thus you have to mow (or vacuum) around where he is and come back to that spot later!

I think it's so cute how he loves to follow Daddy around!

Conner doesn't sit or lay or hold still. Ever. He hates it in fact. However, when Daddy wants some snuggles and it's getting close to bedtime, Conner occasionally will snuggle in and fall asleep with Daddy. As much as Daddy loves the snuggle time, it rarely happens because it makes for a very hard transition into his crib. I think this is only the second time in his life (we are firm believers of putting children to bed in their own bed/crib SLEEPY but not ASLEEP), but it's so cute when it does happen!

It's A....

Today we found out the gender of our little one who will be joining our family in November. Conner is excited to announce that it's a...
BOY! He will be such a great big brother! And he is going to love having a little brother! Ammon and I have already found ourselves talking about how Conner is going to love showing his little brother how to do thing - even before little brother is capable of doing them!

My vision for this picture was a large bouquet of balloons, but when I went to buy them and saw the price for a balloon that we only needed for 5 minutes, I decided to buy a few less balloons. And then, of course, a couple had to pop in the car. But Conner still had a blast running around the park. Although getting pictures of him is tricky because he thinks one of the funnest games ever is "Chase Conner" - he loves to run away and have you say, "I'm going to get you!" Which isn't great for taking a picture of that adorable face of his!
